Big Chill and The Electric Picnic
Exactly what it says on the tin… We have just been asked to perform at two of the most prestigious festivals around.. No main stage invitations as yet but we are well happy to say the least.
A return to the Electric Picnic is something we have been hoping for a while now, we were out there a while back and we were completely overwhelmed by everything about the place and people, it's a privilege to be invited back, cant wait. (Another huge shout out to Karen)
The Big Chill is one of those festivals people say would suit us down to the ground, something I have heard again and again from everyone except the Big Chill themselves. Its one we have always wanted to play at too so when the folks at "Sunrise" called us to say they had a small stage there this year we jumped at the chance to perform. (Big Ups to Jasmin)
Things are looking up…

Glastonbury Part One
So you get to Glastonbury and it's not until then that you realise that all your planned show times are completely different to what you expected, not to mention shows in the program that you know nothing about and ones that seem to be missing but that's just Glastonbury, You learn to live with it and so that's what we did.
First up there was rain... rain rain and more rain... then it stopped and that was that. It was then the turn of Lazy and WanDan to host the Jazz World stage on Friday introducing the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Estelle, Fun Lovin Criminals, and the amazing Phantom Limb among others (including the non-stop party that is ....Alabama 3.... who apparently have never been called "ridiculous" before, until Friday that was... Ooops!!! But it's all love boys n girls and they killed it.)
The BBC then brought in Phil Jupitus to announce the arrival of Jimmy Cliff, lovely guy who couldn't apologise enough for coming in just to announce the headliner, but it was cool... gave us a little time to take in Jimmy from the right side of the stage and then slope off to the first of a handful of gigs we had booked.
Friday - First Gig - Red Bull Ballroom Having all headed to the festival under our own steam it was the first time we had all been in the same room since rehearsals the week before, great little catch up followed by a heavy show, introduced by an on fire WanDan that had the door working a 1-in 1-out policy within five minutes of us starting.. We decided the week before to try out some new tracks at each of the shows and so we aired "The Bulletin" for the first ever time and the reaction was amazing, so good that it stayed in the set for the rest of the weekend. It got a little bit emotional on stage at one point as Glastonbury has always been a home away from home for most of the Habits and this was the first time the band had played there and to such an amazing crowd too, couldn't have wished for a better start... and then came: The Correspondents, check'em out on our top friends... these guys are dope, great beats, great singer/mc.. Great show... one down, three to go?
Saturday - Second Gig – Bassline Circus
A late afternoon gig in the far reaches of the Shangrilaa fields was always going to be a little quiet but the people at Bassline are Kings and it was a pleasure to play for them, big up to Ryan and co for looking after us. Made a few new fans and aired the second new song of the weekend in "It Fades". It's a slower track so the hot Saturday afternoon was the perfect place to try it out, and again it was great to see the reaction it got as we've been working hard on these new songs and it's good that they finally are getting to see the light of day.....
Part two coming soon... should give you enough time to check out the Correspondents....

The Album
We are knee-deep in recording at the moment, not sure on an exact release date yet but we will keep you posted. For a little more info check www.myspace.com/lazyhabits to read our ongoing studio blog and random ramblings from some of the band.
The Single
Plans for a single on download & very ltd 7" being bounded about as we speak. We realise it's been a while since we gave you a record to dance to, so we'll see if this can be put right as soon as possible.
In the Meantime
We have dusted off a B-side from the Wagon EP recordings, one of the last pieces we recorded with Steff Halperin (Klaxons) on drums, and it will be free to download along with a live version of "On My Way" recorded for the Selector Radio.
